About the Artist
Ron Berry, a native of Charleston, SC started his art career in North Carolina in
1983 as a professional glass/sand carver. In 1987, he brought his art to California
and did work for commercial establishments in the Monterey Bay area. Ron
developed some health problems from working with the fine sand dust used in glass
carving and was forced to find another art form.
In 1988, encouraged and mentored by internationally known bronze sculptor
Christopher Bell, Ron began sculpting in wax and clay. For the past years, Ron has
developed his own unique style creating a varied line of fine bronze sculptures.
Starting with small animals and figurines, Ron honed his talent to create larger,
finely detailed and accurately proportioned pieces. Ron does commissioned pieces
as well as his own creations. Many of Ron's works can be found at his web site
www.ronberrystudios.com
In 2002, Ron had an inspirational idea to create a little pewter frog which he named
Froggie and Wish Frog. Ron has since been inspired to write stories and songs to
accompany his little friends. A witnessing ministry has now evolved around
FROGGIE which stands for Fully Rely On God's Grace In Everything. Take a
moment and look at Froggie's Mission page and the Froggies at the
Froggie or Wish Frog sites.
